You can only submit a new sorting app at the platform if you have currently been away from HiH for at least two months. So if you left the community in early June or prior to that, without having been a member in the meantime, you can submit a new app.
Since you are listed as a member of your common room and the main comm, that doesn't seem to be the case, so that leaves the option of an appeal.

Knowing what other house you would be suited for is not necessarily a requirement, we can work around that. Though for obvious reasons it often makes the process a little more straightforward if you can give the judges some sort of idea.

"Lack of cohesion" with your house as you put it, can be one reason for an appeal. You should keep in mind, however, that we base our decision on your canon traits first and foremost.

You would be expected to have been active recently before an appeal, yes. People and atmosphere in HiH can change drastically within a year, so you might feel more connected to your housemates now than a year ago, if you were to give it a sincere chance?
The appeals questionnaire asks about your activity in the last 30 days, so that's roughly the time frame I'd be looking at.

Sorry for the late response, I don't think I ever got a notification for your comment.

This is certainly a situation where an appeal can be appropriate, if you feel like you'd want to go through with it. If you aren't unhappy in your current house, there is no need for it, but if you'd rather have it settled once and for all, it can be done.

It is perfectly ok to appeal after whatever time someone has spent in their house, be it a month or several terms.

In that section of the app you can elaborate on anything you want to. If that means practically re-writing your sorting app, you can do that. As a general guideline, I know the judges prefer "too much" over "not enough" when it comes to what you give them to work with. ;)

Hi Lauren,

I am going to tentatively approve your appeal, under one condition. As per the rules

You must have been a member of HiH and your current house for at least one full month before you enter an appeal. This is so that we know you've at least given your current house a shot. And when we say "at least given your current house a shot," we mean that you've participated.

After speaking with last term's appeals mod and your prefects, I realize that this is your second request, but it doesn't seem that you've been significantly more active in HiH or your house since then.

We have another appeal in the works before yours, so yours can be dropped roughly two weeks from now. My condition for approving your appeal is to please give your current sorting a chance until then, and get involved in your house.
Judges take the requirement to have been an open-minded and active member of your current house very seriously, so it is in your own best interest to give this a try before we go through with your appeal.

Please get back to me once you can provide links of joining in activities, HiH-wide, but more importantly within your house, so I can approve your request. You are welcome to start writing up your appeal in the meantime if you want to avoid being delayed further.

While you've been a member for well over one month, from what your prefects and I can see you haven't entered many activities within the community or your common room.
Judges take the requirement to have been an open-minded and active member of your current house very seriously, so in your own best interest I'd suggest entering a few more activities and joining in a few more social posts within your house before the start of your appeal.

The cut-off point is the date you were officially sorted. So in your case, your appeal can be in the works for us on or after August 24.

If you want to, you can just leave it here and I'll start the process on August 24. Though as a fair warning, with the change of terms at the end of August, your actual appeal will have to be pushed into the new term anyway.

Also, there will be one appeal ahead of yours, so it will take at least a week to get this going. I'll get the approval process started in the meantime once I get the other approved, so sit tight and I'll get back to you soon.
