Are there any questions you would like to elaborate on? If you could teach one class at Hogwarts, what would it be and why?
This was an extremly hard question for me to answer. In pondering this question I’ve considered Potions, Transfiguration, Flying and Care of Magical Creatures.
Right now, I honestly have no clue. I really don’t. They all appeal to me but they all have their drawbacks. I still love the idea of Care of Magical Creatures but, I also love my limbs. I really have no desire to have them ripped, bitten, or burned off.
There is however one class that I keep coming back too. Potions.
Ironically enough, I just asked my friend which class she thought I would teach and that was her answer as well. When I asked her why, this was her response: “Because while it's very rooted in science and exactness and thus requiring book smarts (which you have), it also requires finesse and a certain creativity to make new potions and stuff (something you also have).”
While my friend’s quote is very flattering, it is also very true. I am a mixture of creativity and brains and these things would both definitely lend themselves to a potions master.
Explain why you feel misplaced in your current House! When I think of Hufflepuff, I think of those that are kind and giving without question.
While I may be “compassionate” to animals and my friends, I am not the above. I have a very hard time trusting people. Therefore, it takes a lot for me to open up to others. I often choose the company of books or a hot bath over “friendly” endeavors, preferring to be alone instead.
I’m also very blunt and honest to the point of brutality. I love being honest and I respect those that are capable of outright honesty regardless of the outcomes. Often times this makes me seem mean or harsh. But, I will not lie to someone.
Along with the borderline meanness goes my dark sense of humor and quick sarcastic wit. I love sarcasm. It’s wonderful. If I could roll around in it, I would. I really love someone who can keep up with the verbal sparring.
I am, an intellectual. I love learning and reading and discussing the things that I’ve delved into. The summer that I was 16 I began reading Nabokov and Kundera. Their works inspire and move me to this day.
When thinking of myself as a Hufflepuff I feel completely out of sorts and uncomfortable. It’s just not me and, who wants to be someone they’re not?
What would you see in the Mirror of Erised? Be exact with your descriptions! Even a month after originally answering this question, I completely stand by my original answer.
Let me ask you this. If we, as human beings, are able to know the deepest and most desperate desires of our hearts, why do we need a mirror to show them to us?
I am human and my wants and desires change on a daily basis. What I want more than anything, at this exact moment will most likely be completely different come tomorrow. These things, these temporary wants, are nothing to what lies locked away in the deepest depths of my heart.
How am I to know what I desire above all else when I’m so easily distracted by the trivial things that masquerade as desires? I’m not saying that these everyday wants are bad. No. I quite enjoy them. I love the thrill of the urge to re-read a favorite book or indulge in a fresh coat of glittery nail polish. But these wants… they hide what I truly desire.
Perhaps some can look past these things, but I choose not too. When it comes down to it, I probably would not want to discover the deepest and most desperate desire of my heart. The knowledge of its existence would be enough to drive me mad.
What makes you unique? What a loaded question.
I pride myself on my intelligence and my open mindedness. I may not agree with your views but I am happy to discuss them if you offer me the same courtesy.
I love 1950’s rockabilly style clothing. Whenever I have to wear a dress I try and find things that are inspired by this ear. (I have many polka dot dreses.)
I have a very unique sense of humor that’s a mix of sarcasm and dark humor. But at the same time I can be incredibly goofy and random.
I absolutely love goofy little things such as polka dot shoes with rainbow shoelaces, pink flamingos and rubber ducks.
I have a tendency to make up words. Who knows where they come from. They just appear.
Now for a fun little list: hot chocolate, red nail polish, Vans shoes, GLTB issues in film, transgender issues, hot baths, fun bras, randomness, rubber ducks, Weasley twins, Mello Yello, Robert Sean Leonard, glittery nail polish, hooker-red lipstick, crafting, fun bracelets, Weezer = Me. All of these things make me who I am.
The list goes on….

Date: 2007-06-23 04:27 am (UTC)Hufflepuff: Unquestioning kindness.
Slytherin: Power at all costs.
Ravenclaw: ... my grammar is lousy. :P
Least favorite character... this is a toss up. I loathe Umbridge for being absolutley awful. But, Cho Chang bugs me down to my last nerve with all of her poor me, feel bad for me garbage.
Hmm... what do you mean? Like... in a perfect world it would be X. Or, if I was stuck in there right now what would I take.

Date: 2007-06-23 04:52 am (UTC)I would have to have a bathroom area with an endless supply of bath products. I have to be able to take a bath and wash my hair.
Nail polish. I can't live without it. It's a major part of who I am and an expression of myself.
Some eye glitter.
I would need a Weezer t-shirt, a pair of Calvin Klien jeans and a pair of Vans.
Many forms of entertainment. (Books, movies, etc.)
A copy of Lolita.
A lovely warm fuzzy blanket and pillow. And lots of extra layers of clothing to stay warm.
(This makes me sound so odd. :P)

Date: 2007-06-22 11:49 pm (UTC)Well I see I completely disagreed with your sort from the start, ha.
Okay my question(s): Since you don't feel like you belong in Puff (I agree) which house or houses do you feel you DO belong in? Which house (or houses) would you WANT to be resorted into? It's okay if you sound pushy, since I'm asking you a pushy question. ;o)
Thanks!

Date: 2007-06-23 04:33 am (UTC)1: I feel like I belong in Ravenclaw. I mean, I smart and intellectual. I love good conversation and debate. I loathe stupidity. All throughout school I chose my studies and dance classes over social endeavors. I've just never been that popular girl. I love books and learning and spending time at museums and things like that.
2: Well, I'd prefer Ravenclaw. If not that, Slytherin. It's the closest to Ravenclaw of the four houses. I feel like I'd fit in Slytherin but I'm not really the... scheme to meet any ends type of person. And that, I feel is the main difference.

Date: 2007-06-23 04:46 am (UTC)1: Have you read Maya's "Underwater Light"? Well, in it she had a class called Creative Magic. It was all about how muggles would often remark that works of art were like magic and how, they really were. I love the idea of magic infued art. That would be my class.
2: My room is total craziness. I've got a leopard print bed spread, a five foot stuffed giraffe, and a wooden flamingo. There are cds everywhere and a bunch of movies. I have a table full of books and knick knacks galore. My dresser has a bunch of little things like pictures and letters on it and a bunch of little boxes. I have little duckies everywhere and about 5 billion stuffed Stitches. :D
Honestly, I wouldn't. It's my room and well... it's my room. BUT, my basement is eually crazy (full of my own paintings among other things) and that you could visit. :P
3: I LOVE reading. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I really do. I'm constantly looking for new books and getting lost in them. I love talking to people about books that I've read and getting titles from others.
I love talking and discussing different issues and things that I've learned about. I also love learning new things.
I adore art, music and crafts. I'm a dancer and have a great respect for the arts in general.
Hmmm.... I have a ridiculous obsession with glitter. :D
4: I love going to the bookstore to see if anything jumps out at me. I also love going to the movies. That's a favorite of mine. And if there's a craft show near by, I'm there.

Date: 2007-06-24 04:11 am (UTC)YAY! I love working with beads and wire. I, of course, do jewelry. But, I love decorating wine glasses and frames and things like that. I'm all about mixed media. I'm in love with furnace glass as well.
You?

Date: 2007-06-23 06:29 am (UTC)What is your interpretation of the true qualities of each of the four houses? Why are Hufflepuffs sorted into Hufflepuff, Ravenclaws sorted into Ravenclaw, etc. The more detailed your answer, the better it is. (If you find that you can't really talk a lot even after trying, that's okay. I think that's a trait in itself.)

Date: 2007-06-24 04:44 am (UTC)Gryffindor: When I think of Gryffindor, I don’t just think bravery. I think reckless bravery. In the books, we see a lot of Gryffindors who just react rather than think. I think that everyone can be brave but it’s this over top, act first think later sensibility that makes Gryffindors truly Gryffindors.
Hufflepuff: Unquestioning loyalty and unquestioning friendship. I can be loyal and friendly but, not unquestioningly. I also tend to think of Hufflepuffs as being pushovers because of that same unquestioning attitude.
Slytherin: Self-serving. The Slytherins may have the reputation for being mean and awful but I really think that that comes down to a self-serving, self-preserving attitude. They’re out for themselves. No matter what.
Ravenclaw: I’ve always thought of Ravenclaws as being very analytical and heady (obiviously). Preferring books and knowledge, they tend to differ from societal norms (i.e. Luna). I see Ravens as being great considers and gathers of information.
I honestly think that my brain broke down on Ravenclaw.

Date: 2007-06-25 09:55 pm (UTC)Hufflepuff: Of the four, this is the house that I have the hardest time relating too. Yes, I can be freindly and loyal BUT ony with those that I really consider my friends. I'm not unquestioningly frinedly or loyal.
Slytherin: I think that my cunning wit and love os sarcasm is very Slytherin like. I also think that my very straight forward and honest nature is slytherin like simply because it makes me sound mean at times.
Ravenclaw: A thirt for knowledge and a cunning mind making me think that I belong in Ravenclaw. But, I also feel that my honesty makes me Ravenclaw like. But, not in a Slytherin-y way. In a, I'm stright forward and I like to consider things type of way.
Honestly, I really think that the difference between Ravenclaw and Slytherin is ridiculously slight. I see them both as seekers of knowledge with cunning minds. It all comes down to how one decides to apply what they've learned.
