I am happy to let you know that your appeal was successful and you have been re-sorted into Hufflepuff.
The judges generally agreed that you seemed to be a Ravenpuff (with some side doses of Slytherin and Gryffindor), and could easily see you fitting into either house. However, after all of us had a hard time deciding, the majority chose to send you to Hufflepuff. Here is some of what the judges had to say:
-I think that she's mostly Ravenpuff at heart with definite elements of Gryffindor. She's not a Luna-esque Claw by any stretch of it, but I don't think all Claws are and I think the Hufflepuff in her makes her more grounded and more pragmatic at heart. The Gryffindor in her gives her a prominent moral compass and a desire to follow what's right, but I also think that on the whole, Iris puts more value on things like fairness, hard work, intelligence and logic and inquisitiveness.
-I’m going to have to go with Ravenclaw though in the end. I just don’t see Hufflepuff traits at the very core of her personality. She certainly has Puff responses and Puff opinions, but I really see them backed up by a very logical explanation and a logical reasoning. We need people to be empathetic because when people aren’t empathetic, we all hurt each other and self destruct (sorry for the paraphrasing). The biggest problem in the world is that we’re wrapped up in our own problems, and we don’t see the rest of the problems in the world so we screw ourselves and each other over. My rewording is lacking, but despite that, I really do think that her thought processes for why she has Hufflepuff reactions are very logically thought out and are very wide reaching in scale, moving into an almost theoretical level.
-She's incredibly grounded, practical, and hard-working. She genuinely enjoys helping others achieve their full potential, which reminds me a lot of Helga ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to learn. If she'd been around at the founding of Hogwarts, I think that's the kind of role she'd take on. She's tolerant and accepting even though she has a strong set of personal values. One of her main goals is to be just and fair. The importance she places on honesty is very Hufflepuff, as is her dystopia answer, what she'd want all children to know, and what she thinks the biggest problem in the world is. I think Hufflepuff motives underlie the majority of her choices and they're what she would compromise last. The emphasis on fairness and tolerance throughout her entire appeal is overwhelming.
-The answers that struck me as very Hufflepuff were those of the one thing I want to achieve in life is happiness. , she answered quite a few questions how she shuts herself off in a crisis and doesn't like to respond to those, sharing her money with her family, and finally the fact that she seems to relate to Cedric in many situations. The answers that shouted Ravenclaw to me were those about not forgiving about deception, not using knowledge for bad situations, doing away with grades and letting people really have the chance to learn without labels.
-When asked about morality, iris is quick not to impose her view of morality on others, instead choosing the route marked by fairness and take the neutral route. When faced with the possibility that she would have to see her family and friends slowly fall away if she picked to live forever, Iris balked and instead chose to live a natural life span. Fairness seems to be a common theme with Iris, coming up again in her decision regarding which type of society she could endure the least (the society where fairness was abandoned was her least desired society). Kindness is also a repeated theme, from her mention of the famous Plato quote to her choice to become Abnegation (the faction which exists to serve others and bring joy to others) in the Divergent universe.
You can leave the Ravenclaw common room and will be accepted into the Hufflefpuff common room. Except not really, because this is just an example appeal and you're not allowed to be a Hufflepuff. Good luck in your new house, I hope you will enjoy it!
