2) Slytherin: Probably the time I spent job hunting just a few weeks ago. I manged to be just the right mix of charming and certain in my interviews to convince people to make me an offer. I think I did a pretty good job of making my weaknesses sound not so bad and my strengths sound perfect for the job, and generally putting my best foot forward. I wanted this job, I was driven and well prepared, and I was ready to play by standard job interview rules even though I find them utterly ridiculous. Ravenclaw: About three years or so back, I went to the German Museum here in Munich. It's a huge and pretty amazing museum about all things technological and sciency. I went very often as a kid, but I hadn't been in years, and I was completely blown away by the fascination of it all. I spent ages in the math section, rediscovering why I had decided to study it after I finished school, and just generally geeking out. Hufflepuff: I once hosted a fun contest with a friend for our Hufflepuff friends in another sorting community. She was visiting me here at the time, and we'd bought some Puff-themed (and general) goodies, and decided to give them away. We spent about five minutes coming up with that general idea, and then we discussed endlessly how to make it as fair as possible, and how to make sure the person who showed the most dedication and put the most effort into their entry would win. The contest wasn't nearly as important as the fairness of the judging criteria. Gryffindor: A while ago there was a scandal~ involving our Bundespräsident/(Federal) President that ended with him resigning, and public debate whether or not he deserved to collect his special president pay for the rest of his life. I got into a discussion with my father who pretty much said no one would benefit from him declining that extra pay, so why would he do it? I tried to explain my point of view that no matter whether it helped or hurt anyone if he got or didn't get that money, declining it would have been the right thing to do in that situation. Of course you can't put a monetary prize on how ethical a decision is, but that doesn't mean that ethics aren't worth anything.
